|I love shooting at the golden hour. That beautiful soft buttery light leaves me speechless every time. As soon as I arrive to a session, the first thing I do is scope out where that soft warm light is. It's just so gorgeous and enhances every image 1000%. Sometimes parents are concerned that their kids might be more tired at the that time of day and may not be up for it, but I have found that once they arrive, there's an energy that always seems to appear right when we need it!
Jack and Luke brought their cheerful energy and sibling love to this session. Two young boys and a park to run around at golden hour - it couldn't get any better! I'm smiling just thinking of our time together. Jack and Luke, because you have each other, you will always have a friend. Thank you Caroline for letting me photograph your boys at this fun stage of their lives. I had a blast!
|When I think back to this session with Matt and Emily, I am filled with gratitude. I am grateful that they shared themselves with me during their engagement session and wedding. I am grateful that they found the strength and courage to get married during this crazy pandemic year, and share their joy with those closest to them. I am grateful for this job that lets me get to know such kind and generous people as Emily and Matt.
Although it's been such a difficult year for weddings, it has been a surprisingly incredible gift for a lot of couples to be rid of the pressure of the "perfect" wedding. Sometimes in life, we hold so tightly to the things we think will make us happy. When intense changes come at us (like a pandemic) we may fear that "perfect" day is lost. Instead, it may just be that an even greater gift is found. A more stunning, rich, and fulfilling day takes place in so many unexpected ways. That is exactly what I witnessed on Emily and Matt's wedding day. It was perfect in it's simplicity.
Thank you Matt and Emily for letting me be a part of your beautiful engagement session and wedding. You are two of the kindest people and I wish you all the best! xoxo
|This session was an incredibly special one as this family means so much to me. I photographed Tara and Ed's wedding, and now, I had the privilege to photograph everyone together again with the newest addition. Meet Shay Caroline! She is the cutest, happiest, little ray of sunshine who smiled through her entire session. She was a joy to photograph as was the rest of the family. We picked a beautiful location in Guilford, CT at the best time of day. Oh that light!
Photographing families are one of the most special and meaningful things that I get to do in this life. In the words of Alex Haley ~ "In every conceivable manner, the family is link to our past, bridge to our future."
Family is everything.
Thank you Nancy, for letting me photograph yours!
|When Emily contacted me to photograph her and Brett's engagement session, I was thrilled! The fact that they don't live in CT, and are not getting married in CT, but wanted their engagement session in Branford, where she grew up, was all I needed to jump on board! Right up the street from where I am located, is the beach where Emily spent a lot of her time. It was the perfect spot to meet and photograph the two of them. We had a perfectly beautiful night.
Engagement sessions, and most all sessions, are best when they are in a location that is special. Including an element that is significant to the story is also important. In their case, Emily and Brett brought along their puppy, Pepper. Just look at that face! so cute.
Thank you Brett and Emily for letting me photograph your love in such a sentimental place. It was an honor for me! All my best wishes to you for a joy-filled future together! xx

|I can't get enough of this family! I have been blessed to have photographed the "little" guy, Darrell, when he was just a small boy. Now he is all grown up, a senior in High School, and most definitely taller then me (who, apparently is getting older and shrinking?).
It was an honor to be invited to photograph the entire family as they gathered for a special birthday. They gave me time in their yard for some family photos. We did so many fun combinations, and we did it quickly, so they could get back to the festivities. It really doesn't take long to guarantee a life-time of fun, beautiful memories of this special time in their lives.
These times together are beyond precious and deserve to be professionally photographed, so they will live on for generations to come.
I had to narrow down my selection for the blog post but trust me, there are so many more. Scroll down to see a bit of our time together.
Thank you Nanci for trusting me with your family photos. It's an honor! xoxo
