They rolled up on scooters—and instantly, the tone was set.
Marie-Hélène, Daniel, and Arthur arrived on Roosevelt Island looking like a family straight out of a fashion magazine… only warmer, more relaxed, and complete with genuine joy. From the moment I met them, their connection was unmistakable—they had a kind of easy affection.
Nothing about this session felt posed. We wandered all around, talked, laughed, and let the session unfold naturally—proof that the best photographs happen when you stop “posing” and simply be.
This is always my hope for families during a session: to relax, have fun, and trust that you don’t need to be perfect for the camera. These photographs aren’t for me; they’re for you. They’re for remembering who you were, together, right now—when Arthur is still this age, and scooters are part of everyday adventures. Years from now, when he’s taller and those scooters are long gone, the love will look exactly the same.

Some photo sessions just click — and this one with Olivia and Vaughn was pure New York magic. We met at The Plaza (because where else do you start an iconic NYC love story?) and wandered into Central Park to enjoy the fall foliage. Between the golden leaves, the skyline peeking through the trees, and these two looking like they stepped out of a movie, it was one of those shoots that makes you fall in love with the city all over again.
This session was extra special — a little love letter to NYC before Olivia and Vaughn’s next chapter. If you ever needed proof that New York makes everything look cinematic, just wait until you see these two under the golden leaves of autumn.

I'm seriously falling for family moments at Waveny Park!
I had the absolute joy of photographing this picture-perfect family at Waveny Park in New Canaan. It's one of my favorite places to photograph anytime but the fall is unreal! The fall colors were showing off (honestly, same), and this crew brought all the greatest vibes to match. Jennifer, Ian, Vivien, Kendrick, and Juliet were all so much fun together - so many laughs!
Fall is nature's way of saying "Call Cheryl NOW and book your session during this time of amazing color!" With the fiery foliage as a backdrop, family photos this time of year have that unbeatable mix of warmth and wonder. These are the moments that remind us how fast time leaves (see what I did there?) and why capturing them matters. |
I had the sweetest family session on the Upper West Side at Big River Playground! Manita and Gautam brought their two little ones, Arya and Amer, and we spent our time playing and exploring together.
Arya led the way with her adventurous spirit while little Amer followed right behind. This was the ideal setting for energetic kids and authentic moments.
I love sessions like this where the photos feel like a true reflection of family life—playful, warm, and filled with love. The Upper West Side is such a special backdrop, and this beautiful family made it shine even more! I mean, come ON, this family and the setting are gorgeous - I couldn't help but have fun!

There are few celebrations as moving and joyful as a vow renewal—especially when it marks three decades of love.
Recently, I had the honor of photographing the anniversary of a truly wonderful couple, Ron & Margo, as they celebrated their 30th year married at the Tyde at Walnut Beach. What an amazing backdrop.
These two incredibly kind and beautiful souls were surrounded by their friends and family on a glorious day to renew their deep love for each other. From the moment I arrived, I knew it was going to be a great day. The laughing, the dancing, the food, and all the happy tears made for a glorious party.
To quote John Legend, "We will never break, We will never break, built on a foundation strong enough to stay. We will never break. As the water rises and the mountains shake, Our love will remain". Those lyrics perfectly capture your love.
Margo and Ron, you are cherished deeply by all who know you. Especially me. Thank you for letting me be a part of your story. Love you both! xoxo
